Oil and gas ressources
Licence Sciences de la Terre Parcours Geology, geophysics, georesources (UFAZ) (délocalisé en Azerbaïdjan)
Description
During this course the students will learn some important parts of the history behind the hydrocarbon industry, as well as the current economic situation and future prognostics in a wide range of scenarios. The students will also be taught the most important rules of the generation, maturation, migration and storage of hydrocarbons, and the different aspects to be taken into consideration not just at the time of exploration, but also during production and development of a field in general. In order to achieve that students will have the opportunity to practice using initially some didactic data sets, but evolving to very complex realistic scenarios, where their true instincts and knowledge of the most varied disciplines taught in the entire course come into play, really serving as a testing platform for their general knowledge and understanding of sedimentary basins, tectonic setting and geological processes.
Compétences requises
Plate Tectonics; Sedimentology; Depositional Environments; Basin Analysis

Bibliographie
Society for Sedimentary Geology (http://www.sepmstrata.org) is a great source of general information, including links to more detailed manuscripts and books might interest the students. Additionally, there are substantial amount of incredible material available at American Association of Petroleum Geologists website(https://www.aapg.org), also with papers and books published by the AAPG publisher.
