Art and Communication
Master Sciences de la Terre et des planètes, environnementParcours Continental Water Sustainability (ouverture à la rentrée 2026-2027)
Description
Effectively communicating scientific information—such as environmental or water quality data—requires more than technical accuracy; it demands the ability to engage diverse audiences beyond the scientific community. Translating complex socio-ecological interdependencies within hydrosystems into accessible and meaningful narratives, without oversimplification, represents a central challenge in contemporary environmental communication.
This workshop aims to foster students’ curiosity, creativity, and artistic communication skills through self-developed and experimental approaches. By employing various visual media (e.g., video, photography, design objects, virtual or augmented reality), students will explore innovative ways to visualize the needs of non-human beings, convey empathy toward nature, and inspire motivation for environmental action.
Working in interdisciplinary teams, participants will design and present their own communication strategies, assessing their effectiveness both (a) within the team and (b) in interaction with public or end-user audiences.
