Water Governance and Water Economics from an International Perspective
Master Sciences de la Terre et des planètes, environnementParcours Continental Water Sustainability (ouverture à la rentrée 2026-2027)
Description
This unit covers the main principles of water governance with an international perspective. As such, the course is thematically more broadly open to the analysis and understanding of environmental and agricultural policies.
Theoretically, the course is structured around the main principles of public action analysis, with a focus on various processes: controversies, public problems, social mobilization, analysis of actors and stakeholders, implementation, activities of the State and of both public and private actors involved in the production of public action, and feedback effects.
More specifically, the objectives of this course are to:
- understand and analyze the governance of water and/or aquatic environments,
- be able to identify the issues, actors, interests and institutions involved in governance processes and the interactions between them,
- identify issues and potential paths for change in a governance situation,
- propose the implementation of practical solutions based on a problematic case study.
