Main Research Interests

Active Tectonics (Neotectonics and Paleoseismology)

Quaternary dating methods (particularly cosmogenic nuclide exposure dating and OSL dating)

August 2011: European Science Foundation (ESF) Grant for attending the ESF-LUFI Conference on Cosmogenic Nuclides in Obergurgl, Austria.

Projects

Since 2012: PALET Project: Paleoseismology, paleotsunamis and uplift rates of the NE Japan subduction zone and relationships with the 2011 M9 Tohoku earthquake: Constraints on the seismic cycle. Funding by ANR (L'Agence nationale de la recherche, France).

2008-2011: Rates of thrust faulting at the front of the Precordillera in western Argentina: Implications for the seismic hazard in Mendoza city from surface exposure dating and paleoseismology. Funded by DFG: HE 1704/6-1.

2006-2008: Tectonometamorphic evolution of the Western Rhodope Complex – A record of multiple continent collision? Funded by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service): SCH and DFG (German Research Foundation): FR 700/10-1.
